A very rare 1/3 Stater from Kroton

BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 530-500 BC. 1/3 Stater or Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 2.47 g, 1 h). ϘΡΟ Tripod with legs ending in lion's feet, and with three handles and snakes rising from the bowl; between legs, snakes facing each other; to right, crab. Rev. [ϘΡΟ] Same type as the obverse, but incuse and without the snakes and the crab; around, rayed border. HN Italy 2079. SNG ANS -. Very rare. Light scratches, otherwise, very fine.

From an American collection, ex Triskeles 25, 28 September 2018, 13 and previously from the Dr. Walter Stoecklin Collection, Obolos 8, 2 December 2017, 62 (part of) and previously acquired prior to 1975.
